A lover & a fighter...
Harima Kenji is the one of the main characters from the popular anime and manga, "School Rumble." He's a tall, muscular monster of a man. People fear being in his very presence: he has been rumored to be wildly violent and could fly off the handle at any moment. He's notoriously deliquent, having failed grades and being the one to pull up to class on a motorcycle. He is rarely seen without his characteristic sunglasses.
However, what people don't know is that Harima isn't heartless. In fact, he's quite the opposite. He's totally in love with a girl from his grade named Tsukamoto Tenma, a cute girl with long hair and silly pigtails. However, unbeknownst to him, he's entwined in a hairy love triangle with his dream girl. Harima loves Tenma, but Tenma loves some blank-faced simpleton named Karasuma Ooji. And Karasuma loves... curry.
The story of Harima...
Harima lives a tragic tale of unrequited love. In his days of youth [also known as freshman year :p], he was an untamed man of boundless, blind fury. He lived to fight, and fought to live. He was a wild child, with his spiked black hair and muscular body. But one day... Harima encountered a man who was picking on a young girl for no reason.
Naturally, he fought the guy. It only took one quick jab for Harima to render the bully unconcious, but he didn't manage to escape a giant, bloody gash across his back. Harima wasn't out to save anyone's life, he only wanted to fight, as always. But in the process, he saved the girl, who turns out to be Tsukamoto Tenma. Harima is instantly shocked at her incredible... cuteness. But upon seeing his wound, Tenma faints at the sight.
Not knowing what to do with her, Harima carries Tenma back to his house until she's able to wake up. And of course, when she does wake up and find a scary looking guy standing over her in bed, Tenma immediately thinks the wrong thing, and escapes as quickly as she can! Oh, and she also throws Harima around like a ragdoll a little bit before she heads out, the last time she ever will see Harima.
Or so she thinks.
So the very next year, Harima, who still is in love with Tenma and her cuteness, decides to change his identity so he can still pursue the girl of his dreams. And he does this by growing out his hair, wearing sunglasses and growing a mustache. It seems to work, because Tenma has no idea that this is the same guy who she mistakenly thought molested her in her sleep. :p
To this day, Harima still has yet to confess to Tenma that he was the guy who saved her from the bully, and that it was him who really DIDN'T do anything to her in her sleep, and also that... he... loves her.
Will he ever divulge his true feelings to the girl he loves? Will another girl become the target of his affections? Will he ever become a famous mangaka? We'll just have to wait and find out!
